Many people who fall, even if they're not injured, become afraid of falling. This fear may cause a person to cut down on their everyday activities. When a person is less active, they become weaker and this increases their chances of falling.

My Why...
In 2019 my beautiful Mother-In-Law fell and broke her hip. She never walked again because of the pain. She scooted around the house in a wheelchair. She passed away in July of that year.

When I was in school as an Occupational Therapy Assistant- one of my very first patients was Mrs. K. She had fallen at home and been on the floor for DAYS. She ended up with a huge wound and living the rest of her life in a nursing home.

According to NCBI- A long lie is considered anything over 1-2 hours. Long lies can lead to an increased risk of dehydration, hypothermia, pneumonia, pressure sores, kidney failure, depression, post fall syndrome or even death.
